The test is: type to either shell

	/lib/cpp | tail -1
	#line 9 "new.c"
	__FILE__ __LINE__
	^D

On 4.2, the result is

	"new.c" 1

because the preprocessor doesn't reset its own idea of the current
line number.  But what it should be (and is on System V) is

	"new.c" 9

I posted a fix for this a year or so ago, but on one semi-4.3 machine I
looked at, the bug was still there.  I'll repost the fix if necessary.

If you do this test, please mail me the result, and say what hardware
