(NY, NY) Lines: 16 Approved: laser-lovers@washington.arpa Our experiences may have been a fluke, but I would be very cautious about buying anything from BDT. A while back we bought a cut-sheet feeder for a NEC spinwriter from BDT (at the time, NEC didn't make one that handled 2 paper hoppers plus envelopes). The problem is that the feeder didn't work because of a bug in the firmware (they replace the standard NEC prom with one of their own to add some extra commands). Numerous phone calls to their service department were no help, and it was only after several months of my berating them that they admitted there was a problem. It was something like 8 months from the time we bought the damn thing before they sent us a new prom. By that time, we had written the whole deal off (the sheet feeder is still sitting in my office gathering dust). Even if the stupid thing worked, it is so poorly designed, that you have to take the whole sheet feeder off the printer to change the ribbon!
