Berner ReSent-To: POST-INFO-MAC@UCBVAX.BERKELEY.EDU ReSent-Message-ID: <12191979186.54.INFO-MAC-REQUEST@SUMEX-AIM.ARPA> is there a program in existance to be used on a mainframe ( running UNIX or TOPS-20, preferably), that performes the function of BinHex4 on the MAC? in other words, 'that does the opposite of the program "xbin" ?' As a file, processed with BinHex4 is larger, I would prefer to hexify on the mainframe (after uploading with "macget"). Also, what's the *DEFINITE* word on the recommended maximum size of articles to be posted to net.sources.mac (in order to avoid truncation 'somewhere at the end of the world')? Is it 64K? Strictly, or more or less? Should I risk posting a 67K (packed and hexed) file? -------
