Our three Siamese cats sat on the hoods of our cars for years, including on the hood of the Lancia Scorpion which I was concerned with. No scratches at all, just lots of muddy paw prints at times. Even when a dog surprised all three cats on the hood and they all jumped off and raced away there was no damage. I would not worry about it much. -- David C.
