If you skid out on some sand, or some moron in a parked car opens a door in your face and dumps you, are you going to be able to retrieve your son before a car hits him? If it's a minor tumble, perhaps, but I've been witness to cyclers knocked unconscious, fortunately, none of them had babies with them. There used to be a fellow in Cambridge who used a sort of rickshaw attached to the back of his bike to cart his kids around.
