Refrigerators: can I safely assume that any refrigerator that
claims to be self-defrosting really is?  Defrosting the freezer is
my least favorite thing.  Any other refrig info solicited.

Appliance refinishing:  Before I started appliance shopping, I
had planned on getting things in the "brown" finish that's
been fairly common for the last few years.  The stores tell me
this is no longer available.  So, I'm wondering about these places
that claim to refinish kitchen appliances.  Has anyone had any
experience with them?  Does the finish chip off easily, and so
on?
