It provides very good rain protection, except for a little blow-by between the non-full-length Velcro front closure, and "breathes" so you don't sweat when the sun is out. It is cut long in the pant legs and back of the jacket so it doesn't ride up in a sitting position. Leading Edge wants about $180 for both pieces, 10% off for new customers. Just don't touch it to the pipes because the shell is Nylon. The Teflon microporus inner coating, which is the real trick of Gore-Tex should help prevent sticking to skin in the event of an upset but I wear regular pants and long sleeve shirt underneath anyway.
