Such commercial systems as BRS handle the type of retrieval you discuss. The system is expensive to use. If the text you are searching has already been entered by someone on their system, though, it's cheaper than putting it all in yourself. BRS, I believe, will sell you their software to run on your machine. This is attractive if you have REALLY HIGH VOLUME. Another product, ZyIndex, does similar work on PCs and (I think) maybe Unix systems (at least there was talk of such). The cost on this product is LOW!
