I am looking forward for QUEST to be completed! Before I get to my present question, I have to start with a game description: I had a Total Winner game the other day. I wanted to maximize my score, and thus, knowing that the only things that count when you escape the Dungeon are your experience, the amount of gold you carry and valuable gems - I tried to carry as many valuable Gems as I could. I made a second pass throughout level 1-19, digging into every enormous rock with my pick-axe, and then turning the rocks into gems with my wands of polymorph and identifying them. I took everything up and at the last moment dropped my precious +5 crysknife, and my armors, wands, pick-axe, etc., and carried out as many gems as I could (about 700). My final score was about 3753000. My question is, what is the maximum possible score at hack? It shouldn't be too difficult to calculate, because the score is a linear function of the real experience, the gold, and the amounts of the various gems (and the Amulet, which is a constant), and the constraint you have on the variables is your carrying capacity (you have the weights of the gold and Amulet and gems). So it is simple linear programming, but one has to dig into the sources and find all the values of the constants (as far as my experience with hack sources goes, the constants probably have ranges and there is a routine that calculates the actual values for the current game, and it should take a little while to figure out). Has anyone ever done this calculation and has some answer? Yossi
