Maybe this is related to the article some years ago stating that the neutrino
flux measured in the 1950s from the Sun was gone when the measurements were
repeated in the 1970s.  The conclusion was that the thermonuclear reaction in
the Sun had gone out and we were living on stored heat.  Mmm..., no wonder the
winters seem to be getting gradually colder.
