I heared rumors that the CCC (Chaos Computer Club) here in Hamburg wanted to wire their local network with AX.25 TNC's. I don't know if they did it. TAPR TNC's were too expensive for them... But: To use 56 kBd you would have to change something in the TAPR-TNC hardware (for the TNC-1). Without a change in the clock circuit the TNC-1 will only be able to work up to 4800 Bd, I think (?).
