I do know that all the federal jobs for which I have interviewed makes use of urinalysis during the physical, and has a lie detector test. I believe that these are used for purposes of security clearance rather than a worry that an employee will come to work under the influence. In fact, I had to sign a form that I would never touch illegal drugs from the day I signed the form on my NSA application. They were willing to forget about the past provided I promised not to do it in the future. However, I was never a heavy user of drugs...I don't know how other people would look to them. (that was not intended to be a holier than thou type statement, they accepted a friend of mine last year who had a felony on his record from many years back, but never had trouble with the law since. He didn't take the job, but he was shocked that they even considered him.) -- ---------------------------------------------------------- Dave Goldberg UUCP: ..!{allegra,seismo,decvax}!rochester!ur-tut!dsg1 BITNET: DSG1@UORVM USMail: PO.
