NSC's Portland Development Center is involved in developing a family of UNIX(tm) machines based on the National 32000 chip set. NSC-PDC, while part of a large corporation, enjoys the comfortable atmosphere of a much smaller organization. Positions demand familiarity with C programming and the Unix operating system. A background in hardware design or evaluation is highly desired. At least several years experience in hardware or software design is required. Experience with device drivers would be helpful. Applications Engineering (multiple levels): Work with National's OEM customers to help integrate our ICM products into the OEM's system. Perform software development as necessary to help customer integration, new product development, and in house use. While this position involves assisting customers in their use of our products, the position is for an applications engineer who works in house, not a field applications engineer that has been discussed recently on the net. The majority of the time spent will be in solving problems. Salary is competitive and, of course, commensurate with experience. SEND RESUMES TO: National Semiconductor Corp.
