This reminded me of a problem I had once.

I was working for the Army Corps of Engineers and we were sending
out terminals, modems, and printers to environmental engineers at
various installations throughout the country.  

Well one day I got a phone call, and the guy said that his terminal
didn't work.  So I asked him what was wrong with it.  He replied that
the box had a hole in the bottom and the bottom of the terminal was
all smashed in.  I told him that, that sounded like a good excuse for
it not to work, so I told him to send it back and I would send it out
to be repaired.  Well do you want me to send you the other terminal
too, he asked?  What other terminal?
