This reminded me, for obvious reasons, of an event that happened on network TV a few years ago. William F. Buckley, Jr. and some other people were providing some sort of commentary or colour at (I think) the Democratic convention, where Senator Kennedy was giving a speech. Well, the audience was cheering wildly, and one of the commentators said "The delegates are sure eating this up!" Buckley, in a soft voice, said "Coprophagy!"
