Johnny had been absent from school the day before.  The teacher asked him
the reason for his absence.  "Well" he began "my father sleeps in the nude
and..." "Oops," said the teacher "maybe you'd better come in after school
and tell me this story."

Johnny came in after school as promised and the teacher again asked him
the reason for his absence the day before.  "Well, as I tried to tell you
this mornin'--my dad sleeps in the nude and yesterday mornin' he thought
he heard a strange noise in the chicken yard.  He grabbed the doubled-
shotgun and went outside to investigate.  He was bein' very quiet but didn't 
spot anything. He bent over behind this bush to look over the yard again
when Ol' Spot, our dog, came up behind him and "cold-nosed" him.  I spent all
day yesterday pickin' chickens."
