I use rn to read the net -- among other things, it has a neat little feature called 'kill' to junk all articles which have a certain subject. Those people who perpetuate the running puns know about such features and deliberately change the subject line to get around them. In other words, they *want* their addition to a running pun to be read (or at least seen) by others, so they aren't going to make it any easier for people to skip over it.
