I was wandering if someone could send me or tell me where in the manuals to locate a list of the error messages and numbers for cc,f77 and pc. I have looked every where I know of and have asked our system people here at Purdue University to locate one for me. I always get the answer "I don't think there is such a list". Here at Purdue we use students as consultants to assist other users with problems relating to programming and general UNIX questions. One of the most common questions, besides the old favorite ("Why doesn't it work ?"), is "What does 'core dump' or 'bus error' mean ? and Where can I find a list of the errors ?". If someone has compiled such a list or can direct me to the proper manual I would have several happy users here that would be gratefull. I hope that the people at Berkley get this and make such a list available in the future. Thanks !! Jim Moore (Purdue University) (Industrial Engr. Dept) " I Owe ... I Owe ...
