Sci. Lines: 35 I am interested in buying an Amiga and would like a little information about it and possible periferals, specifically: o How stable is AmigaDOS? Will there likely be major changes in the future? I develop much of my own software and really need a stable environment. If it may fluctuate, would it stabilize within the next year? o Are there any harddisks available yet? I specifically need a 40MB drive if possible. I want *reliability* before price. o I hear there is a PC emulator. If so, how fast is it? How well does it emulate? Are there 5.25" drives available so that you can pull things off a standard diskette? o What languages are available, and which of these are the best implemented and most reliable? I like C and Pascal first, but can suffer through several other languages if they are more reliable. o Modems? This is a necessity (how else could I be here :-) ) Any of these that you can answer would be appreciated. The more technical the answer gets, the happier I would be -- I just wouldn't have to ask again. Thanx in advance -- ************************************* * Jim Frost madd@bucsb.ARPA * * cscc71c@buacca.ARPA * * * * "You just gotta smile through it" * *************************************
