Kermit. I lose the 8th bit of every byte. Has anybody out there had any luck transferring binary files with this Kermit. It has a binary file option but this seems to have no effect. On a more technical level, the 8th bit quoting character does not appear in the Sinit packet. The server acks with an indication that it would accept the 8th bit quoting character if it were requested. I am wondering if maybe Jack Palevich made the binary file option part of the Kermit parameter menu but failed to implement 8th bit quoting. I find that hard to believe since that is a rather trivial task and the rest of the implementation is so complete. Is anybody out there in contact with Jack to ask him this question? If not, I guess I will have to go mucking around in the code to find out. Thanks in advance, David Young -------
