It appears that when using ResEdit on my HD20 (HFS), ResEdit won't always correclty look at documents that are NOT in the 'root'. It seems to CREATE a blank document in the root, even though you're trying to work on a document (with the same name) in a folder. The workaround? Move your target file TO THE ROOT prior to using ResEdit on it. Jeff
