Now, I never thought that he was doing anything then other than to say look, it's all right, just take it easy, I love you. On the other hand, my friend thought he was removing the memories of what had happened between them, since they were causing her such anguish. Obviously this makes a rather large difference as to the tone of the scene. Now, am I being unusually dense? Do most of you out there see it the way my friend does? Perhaps part of the reason I am so reluctant to read it that way is because it requires postulating another power that Supes posesses ad hoc, of which enough had been done in that movie already--the giant evaporating Saran Wrap 'S', the force beams, the teleportation, etc. ad nauseam. On a totally unrelated topic: I recently saw a movie on TV of which I missed the beginning credits and was wondering if Jayembee or anyone else could supply me with the title. I can supply a fair amount of information that I got from the end credits. It was made in the early seventies by people in several European countries (France, Spain, and Italy, I think). It presented an interesting look at the legendary Amazons, in view of when it was made. The main protagonists were Antiope, Queen of the Amazons, and Theseus. Final scene ends something like this: THESEUS: Ah, there's Phaedra. ANTIOPE (dangerously): And WHO is Phaedra? THESEUS: Er--my wife. ANTIOPE: Oh, is THAT all? I thought she was your lover! [Title: AND SO ANTIOPE AND THESEUS RODE OFF TO LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER . . .] [Title: . . . AND IF YOU BELIEVE THAT, YOU'LL BELIEVE ANYTHING.] In keeping with nettiquette, please MAIL all replies (about this movie, that is, not SUPERMAN II) to me and I'll post the consensus if there is a demand. Thanks. --pH /* * "Klono' tungsten TEETH and curving CARBALLOY CLAWS!!" */
