Lines: 8 Regarding the validity and aging of information in the arbitron ratings, on our local machines (zeus,athena,hercules,teklds) news articles are expired on a thirty day basis, which means that regardless of the age of the .newsrc file, arbitron will reflect an accurate and up to date readership. The only problem (something that I've noted to Brian) is a bug regarding slow moving newsgroups, such as mod.movies, where a match between the singlet article number in the active file and a user's last article number in .newsrc can give a falsely high reading.
