The magazine is edited and published by Laurence Urdang (a well-known lexicographer). The issues include articles, book reviews, and letters on matters similar to those discussed in this group. There is also a cryptic crossword and a competition. The current (Winter 1986) issue features winning entries in the annual Verbatim essay competition. Each issue also includes as a supplement a catalogue for the Verbatim Book Club, which sells books on language at discount prices.
