	I learned to ski in Tahoe while I was an undergrad at Santa Clara
University.  The skiing on the higher peaks at Tahoe is usually fair to
good by mid-April, but I had heard that the unusually heavy storms that
hit the West a few weeks ago dropped a lot more snow on the mountains.  If
this is true, the spring skiing should be great.

	You can always rent at the resorts, but I generally woundn't
advise it if you aren't a beginner -- they're usually beat up pretty
badly.  Though some of the larger resorts have "good" skiis that you can
rent at a higher rate.  Most people skiing in Tahoe have come from LA or
the Bay area and bring their rental skiis with them, so it's not like
other places that have "ski villages" with lots of independent little ski
shops.

	Better to ask when you get there.  It's been a few years and it
depends on the conditions.

	The eastern side of Tahoe is in Nevada, therefore, there are
casinoes.  There is a road that goes all the way around the lake, if you
stay on it and head toward the south-east end of the lake, you will go
straight through casino row.  There are shows, dancing, lots of food at
low prices, and gambling (I like Ceasars the best, has the best slot
machines -- in my opinion).  There are also nice beaches on the southern
shore, and it may be warm enough to hit the sand.
