The spider rapidly figured out that the inside of an imaging device wasn't a very good restaurant and left -- but only after depositing a few strands of spider silk. One of these strands would periodically interrupt the optical path of the CCD causing interesting images. Of course this was an intelligent machine, so no one ever looked at the raw images -- not for at least a week that is... Steve Crandall
