I always thought metaphisics was was the study of phenomena that ran
contrary to othadox physics theory,  usually with the intent of finding
new physics properties which explain this phenomena.  "Ghosts" and
"Spirits" qualify, but then so to "time traveling quarks", whatever they
are.
