Your family or small niche of society where you grew up may not have provided
this viewpoint for you, but for the great majority of women, regardless of
class, socio-economic status, urban/rural location in American society (and I
think we're probably one of the more enlightened in the world <sigh>),
you're durn tootin' that women are encouraged by society to be less than
they can be.
