Many things, from Shakespeare to >Tolkien to Thurber, work very well when read aloud. I happen to be very >fond of children's books (good ones, natch :-) which I love to read aloud. The Hitchhiker's Guide Series (especially the first three books) are great "read aloud" books. David and I read all four aloud, switching readers at each chapter. When we travel long distance by car, we read the newspaper to each other (passenger reads, of course :-) ). Working crosswords together is also fun. We also enjoy watching basketball snuggled together on the couch. Of course, we also do strange things like write software, develop class assignments for our students, and, rumor has it, install faster crystals in his PC over spring break. You just have to be creative. You don't have to spend money to have a good time. Even cooking dinner together can be fun. Beth Katz
