Hmm.  Does your SO believe that the one half (presumably men) is innately
more intensely libidinous (rather than culturally constructed that way)?
This sort of bothers me because I've seen men use that line to justify
irresponsible behavior up to and including rape (!).  I've also seen some
women accept it unquestioningly.  Not that I'm accusing your SO of using
that kind of reasoning (I haven't seen the rest of the letter, and I'm
sure I never will :-) ) -- I just felt like I ought to mention this.  Hmm.
