I have fond memories associated with Elton John's "Funeral for a Friend". My high school boyfriend and I used to play it to an 8mm film of 20000 Leagues Beneath the Sea (or was it Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea? The film was black and white with a squid attacking a submarine). Anyway, I just heard it on the radio and it brought back many very good memories. But that isn't exactly a long song. I really like "If Ever I Would Leave You" from Camelot. One of my high school friends auditioned for a play with that. I nearly melted listening to him sing (better than Robert Goulet on my tape). That may be a wedding song if and when ... Someone mentioned Juice Newton's "Sweetest Thing". That's another one high on my list. Another is Air Supply's "Making Love out of Nothing at All". Harry Chapin's "Mail Order Annie" is nice. And I've liked the long version of Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" since I first heard it. I guess this all just depends on what you associate with the song. As I'm getting reading to send this, Jethro Tull's "Locomotive Breath" is playing on the radio. Is that supposed to mean something?
