I always enjoyed reading "The Phantom Tollbooth" (I can't remember the author
offhand) aloud to my SigOt (that's Significant Other, not Special Interest
Group for Odd Terrestrials (although sometimes I wonder (did you ever notice
how programmers (or at least those who have programmed in Lisp) tend to
have imbedded comments?)), or E. Nesbit's "The Five Children and It".
