Greetings to you all: I'm David Kane, a Freshman student of law and history at Reed College. Over the past two months I have read net.singles with great interest. I find it fascinating how distinctive personalities can arise out of seemingly lifeless typewritten articles. As you might guess, I am new to the "net.world". I hope that you will forgive me any trespasses as I acclimatize to the "net.world". I find the entire concept of USENET very valuable and hope that I can contribute to it frequently. Now I wish to throw out a question that I hope you can help me with: The Question: Have any of you ever seemingly permanently broken up with an SO only to find yourself starting a relationship with this same SO later in your life? I have and I call this a "second time" relationship. If you have found yourself in this situation, did the relationship work as well the second time around? Was it better? Was it worse? Did, in fact, anything change? Why did it work, or why did it not work, the second time around? In general, then, what is your opinion of "second time" relationships (as I call them)? Can they work or are they to be avoided? When, if ever, can they work? (I guess it was more than one question after all, but the issue has great significance for me) Please post responses as you feel appropriate, either directly to me or to the net. All of you are far more knowledgeable than me, at this point, on how the net works so I'll leave the decision of where to post in your capable hands. I have no qualms about summarizing to the group if interest exists. If the question is unclear please indicate this and I will clarify it for you.
