Obviously the shot clock didn't help that much. The tournament unfolded for them exactly as last year - barely beating a patsy in the first round ( last year Farleigh Dickinson, this year Akron ), then losing in the second round. Does this mean that Iowa State will win the national championship? Probably not, but you never know... On a brighter note for us Michiganders, Michigan State showed they are a team to be reckoned with by trouncing Georgetown 80-68. State has a very tough test next, as they play #2 Kansas. If they can manage to knock off the Jayhawks, they are Final Four bound. ( Prediction: Kansas by 8 :-( ) Mark
