A while ago I asked if anyone had info about Guadeloupe, in the
French Caribbean. I got two replies, one glowing, one pretty negative.
I leave for a week on March 19, and will post my views upon my
return. Let's see if the island is a) charming, nice beaches, warm
people, great food, or b) unfriendly, dingy and tacky, poverty-ridden,
and great food.
