Lines: 28 The recent horror stories about Eastern and American are interesting but if you want to know what a REALLY bad airline is all about try AVIANCA. I don't really want to go into the whole story but if you remember the bus from "Romancing the Stone" you get the right idea. The only 747 I have ever flown with cockroaches... I remember hearing a few years ago that there was a consumer survey done in which people were asked to rank their preferences in airlines. The survey showed that "U.S. Air" was a more popular airline than "Allegheny". So, since there was at that time no airline by that name, "Allegheny" became "U.S. Air". No, I am not interested in conducting a survey. Personally I think Qantas is the best airline I have flown. I have also flown Singapore Air, which is often cited as the best, but something about cartoons of little koalas showing how to sit on a long flight I found quite endearing.
