Any EE types care to comment about what is going on? Well, I get a similar effect with my JVC HRD 151 HQ VHS deck, but only when I use a tape that has been re-used several dozen times. Never with new tapes. You might try a little experiment and see if that makes a difference. andyc @ hplsla
