An amusing anecdote which might save another rider a bit of trouble...

Spring is upon us and yesterday I got out my steed ('83 VF750 Sabre)
to undo all the winter-type preparations and see about going for a spin.
Last fall, at tune-up time, the service man told me my air cleaner
(oiled foam element in airbox under gas tank) was dirty. So I disassembled
enough fibreglass and metal and plastic to get at the air cleaner, and
guess what I found inside.....

about 3 or 4 handsfull of DOG FOOD!!
It took me a while to believe it too.
I guess some enterprising mice (we live in the country, and have a pet
dog) stole the dog food, climbed up behind the rad, worked their way
into the air intakes behind the steering head and packed in the food.
Fun stuff. Fortunately, no baby mice were found, nor did anything
drop down into the carbs.

Now that you're all done laughing, you might want to think about the
mouse population around where you live, and where you stored your bike,
and so on. You never know...
