It seems the U.S. and the USSR were going to have a chess tournament, with
all the players living in the same hotel.

All the players arrived and began moving towards the elevators, when
suddenly one U.S. player yelled,"The U.S. has the best players in the
world!". This elicited a quick response from the russians,"NYET! the USSR
has the best players in the world!". And so on, and so on until the desk
clerk stopped them with," SHUT UP! NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR: 














CHESS NUTS BOASTING IN AN OPEN FOYER!!!".
