If Riordan could write a reasonable approximation of an English sentence, and spell (not to mention be funny) I might enjoy his "satire". As it is, I find his material remarkably unfunny, wasteful of bandwidth at a time when the people paying the lion's share of the cost of supporting this network are desparately trying to cut costs, and quite simply, annoying. Regardless of how I may appear to you here on the net, I am *NOT* a western dogmatic. In point of fact, I have many quibbles with western science. I prefer to see such differences discussed in an intelligent, rational fashion. I could hardly be accused of studying too much math or physics (I flunked 1st semester calculus, and haven't repeated it yet, and have never taken a physics class (not counting the machining course offered through the physics department)). Matthew, I enjoy satire very much. I have a fairly well developed sense of humour. I simply do not see any humour in Riordan's ranting and raving. -- ==================================== Disclaimer: I hereby disclaim any and all responsibility for disclaimers. tom keller {ihnp4, dual}!ptsfa!gilbbs!mc68020 (* we may not be big, but we're small! *)
