It vanished from my site (fed from ltuxa) too. I saw one glancing allusion to this (after the fact) in net.news.admin; I am kind of surprised that I have not seen any consternation expressed there. Methinks an efficient muffler was put on any discussion or protests and/or those who were enjoying net.jokes feel too guilty about the net cost to publicly beg for it back :-). I sure as heck didn't see any discussion about the pending rmgroup in the weeks before, and I have been keeping a fairly close watch on net.news[.*]. No doubt it has cut net costs, which I take as the motive for the action. Say, if anyone has archives of any discussion in net.news[.*] (you know what I mean, let's have no literal-minded metaflames) on this topic either in the couple of weeks before, or after the fact, would they be kind enough to send me a copy, or to post them to net.jokes.d? net.jokes.d is alive and well here, but there has been nary a net.joke to be seen for a fortnight. Some- thing's afoot here (not necessarily that it is BAD, but it sure was an unannounced SURPRISE). -- ------------------------------- Disclaimer: The views contained herein are | dan levy | yvel nad | my own and are not at all those of my em- | an engihacker @ | ployer or the administrator of any computer | at&t computer systems division | upon which I may hack. | skokie, illinois | -------------------------------- Path: ..!{akgua,homxb,ihnp4,ltuxa,mvuxa, vax135}!ttrdc!levy
