Can anyone provide any insight into the following problem:

I recently tried to configure a 3Com Ethernet board into Ultrix V1.1

At boot time, when the system is checking for the devices that it has been
told should be there, the 3Com board is not reported as found (I think) and,
instead, the message (aproximate!) "ec: buffer memory not found" is printed
out.

The boot sequence continues and reports all of the other devices that the
system is configured for. Then, aproximately at the point where the system
would start to come up multi-user, the system hangs and (if I remember right)
returns to the console sub-system (the ">>> " prompt).

Please mail responses to me, and I'll summarize to the net if need be.
