Message-ID: <37@uva.UUCP> Date: Tue, 1-Apr-86 08:50:27 EST Article-I.D.: uva.37 Posted: Tue Apr 1 08:50:27 1986 Date-Received: Sat, 5-Apr-86 08:16:54 EST Reply-To: dolf@uva.UUCP (Dolf Starreveld) Organization: Computer Science Dept., University of Amsterdam Lines: 48 Xref: watmath net.micro:14235 net.micro.mac:5392 Has anyone developed software and/or hardware to link a SUN workstation to the AppleTalk network? We have a SUN-2 and several Macintoshes strung together in an AppleTalk network. Since both machines use exactly the same SCC, we thought a moderate hardware investment and some software would allow a SUN to act as a gateway between AppleTalk and other networks over here (Ethernet ...). Other things we think of are fileserver etc. QUESTION: 1) Do you now if anybody has already done this ? If so, who, what where ???? 2) Do you think this is possible at all ? 3) Has anybody got source of the AppleTalk protocols ? Please respond by mail and I will summarize to the net. Thanks in advance ......
