Lansing Keywords: I received OS9 v2.00.00 yesterday. Definitely worth the $24.95 upgrade cost. Major improvements include graphics paging up to 3 pages, a fill command for graphics, graphics routines in a separate module that does not need to be loaded when graphics aren't in use, (I don't know how much memory is saved this way), speech/sound cartridge support, (write to device "/ssc" as to "/p" using ASCII), hard disk support, modem support, and 80 column support. There are now three video drivers, CO32 for 32 columns on a TV. CO80 for 80 columns using "optional 80 column card". GRFO (that might be the wrong name, I'm writing from memory) for graphics routines. My question at this point is: what is meant by "optional 80 column card"? Do they mean WordPakII or is Tandy planning on releasing an 80 column card of their own? If they do, will it support graphics on the 80 column monitor, using extra RAM in the card to increase graphics resolution? I would like to hear from anyone regarding the quality and performance of WordPakII. Such things as: does it work with all of OS9 ? What do you need to use the TV for (ie graphics)? Does TSEDIT work with WordPak or would I need a new editor? John Lawitzke Dept. of Elec. Eng.
