It is LETTER QUALITY - not near letter quality - and that's at 60 char/sec. It obeys all Epson FX-80 commands when you use it with a wordprocessor. However, it will not work 100% correctly with graphics programs like Print Shop until the software manufacturer writes a printer driver for the LQ series. The printer output vertical line spacing is off by about 9/8. I am very happy with my purchase and I talked to Broderbund and they expect to support the printer on the next update of Print Shop. I believe the LQ series will be very popular and will be supported by a lot of software programs in the future. Bob Brown AT&T Bell Labs Holmdel, N.J.
