Atwell) Organization: University of Utah CS Dept Lines: 22 I am very pleased with the INTERSECT ram disk that John Franco posted a few weeks ago (Thanks, John). The deallocation feature is quite useful. I have a question though. INTERSECT has a display of the free ram available for use as a ramdisk. Right after I boot (TOS on disk) the free ram shows around 175K. But if I list a file on the screen (by selecting SHOW in the window that appears when you select a non-executable file), the available ram is reduced to 130K the next time I look. Does anybody know what is causing this? Also, I've removed DESK1 and DESK2 from the boot disk to get more memory. Without DESK1 though, it appears that the changes I made to the desktop with the Control Panel are no longer invoked. DESKTOP.INFO is still on the disk. Is there any way to get a customized desktop to appear without installing DESK1? Thanks in advance, Bart Atwell atwell@utah-cs
