I received a letter from GST with information on bugs in 1st-Word.
Letter was dated 28 Jan. 1986.  Here is a summary:

Initial form feed: No, it cannot be suppressed.  Fixed in Ver. 1.04.

Cannot pause between pages:  Fixed in 1.04.

Pitch changes:  Not supported.

Printer control codes:  Cannot be imbedded in text.  Must be built into
the printer driver.

Filename appears at top of page:  To suppress, click on "layout" from
FILE menu, then click OK.  Fixed in 1.04.

Double line spacing:  Not supported in Ver. 1.01.  Fixed in 1.04.

Multiple copies:  Not supported.  New product called 1st Word Plus will
have it, along with mail merge.

Text style lost in block operations:  Not yet fixed.

Incompatibility with ST Writer:  Yes, they are incompatible.
