It's called Robot Wars. It is a pretty old game, but it has just enough complexity to be interesting to me as a programmer. In the game, you program robots using a simple language. Then you place them on the battlefield with other robots and see what happens. After the robot has been created, you have no control over it. All you can do is look for improvements to build into your next robot program. All of this is fine. The only problem is that the game is written for the Apple (cough) computer.
