There is one way of breaking out of this which always seems to work. By the way -- the problem only appears to occur when you UPLOAD a file from the UNIX PC to the remote host, e.g., by typing "umodem -r" or "umodem -rb" on the remote host . After the file has transferred, the "local" command menu has appeared, and you have pressed "CANCL", your emulator screen appears, but it is unresponsive to keystrokes -- the cursor just sits and blinks at you. NOW, DO THIS: -->Press - [The "Local" commands menu pops up.] -->Select "Emulator reset" and press Now the screen will clear. Press -- and you should be back in business. Incidentally, I have only encountered this problem when transferring a file between the UNIX PC and a host running UNIX 5.2x -- never between two UNIX PC's. When you encounter the problem, would you please note the circumstances and send me email? Thanks. Carol Furchner ihnp4!mtuxn!4341csf
