Message-ID: <3127@ut-ngp.UUCP> Date: Tue, 1-Apr-86 14:35:16 EST Article-I.D.: ut-ngp.3127 Posted: Tue Apr 1 14:35:16 1986 Date-Received: Sat, 5-Apr-86 05:34:56 EST Distribution: net Organization: UTexas Computation Center, Austin, Texas Lines: 15 I just found out that MicroDesign closed it's doors, effectively past Friday, that it's being converted into a holding company which is trying to license the Keeper HD-system and the file-server software to a third party. Supposedly, this reorganization is supposed to take from 1 to 3 weeks, during which time you can still get support and upgrades by calling their current (new) number (512)280-0370. If I can be of help to someone that has a hard time getting upgrades, please let me know and I'll give it a (local) shot ... troubles seem to have been caused equally by self-infliction (putting the money into *ENOUGH* good people, rather than SHOWmanship, and underestimating the complexity of developing a file-server) as well as by continueing problems with the quality of Apple's products ("the SCSI-code in the new ROMs is like a Swiss cheese" said a local hacker recently)
